چکیده

Alexa’s method for linearly interpolating matrices is well-suited for application to camera matrices. This paper discusses implementation issues that arise when applying this method to camera interpolation. We show how to include the perspective matrix, even though Alexa’s operators cannot be applied directly to it. We discuss cases where Alexa’s operators fail to converge and show how to work around this problem. Additionally, we present implementation details for three interpolation methods: linear, spline-based smooth approximation, and smooth interpolation using subdivision. We also discuss general issues with implementing Alexa’s method. We note changes to his provided pseudocode and discuss suitable values for ε to maximize efficiency. Finally, we show examples of the technique and describe a quality metric that can be used to compare our technique to camera parameter interpolation.

THE USE OF SEMI INHERITED LU FACTORIZATION OF MATRICES IN INTERPOLATION OF DATA

The polynomial interpolation in one dimensional space R is an important method to approximate the functions. The Lagrange and Newton methods are two well known types of interpolations. In this work, we describe the semi inherited interpolation for approximating the values of a function. In this case, the interpolation matrix has the semi inherited LU factorization.

Linear interpolation problems for matrix classes and a transformational characterization of M-matrices

The linear interpolation problem (LIP) for a class of matrices C asks for which pairs of vectors x, y there exists a matrix A ∈ C such that Ax = y. The LIP is solved for M-matrices, P-matrices, H-matrices, and H+-matrices. In addition, a transformational characterization is given for M-matrices that refines the known one for P-matrices. There is no such characterization for Hor H+-matrices. © 2...

PhysIK: Physically Plausible and Intuitive Keyframing

We present an approach for animating characters using inverse kinematics (IK) handles that allows for intuitive keyframing of physically plausible motion. Specifically, we extend traditional IK and keyframing to include center-of-mass (CM) and inertia handles along with physically based templates to help an animator produce trajectories that respect physics during dynamic activities, such as sw...

Quantitative Analysis for Image-Based Rendering with Depth Information: Part II–2D Occluded Scenes and 3D Scenes

We quantitatively analyze the rendering quality of image-based rendering (IBR) algorithms using per-pixel depth. Assuming the ideal pinhole camera model, we extend the error aggregation framework proposed in a companion paper to 2D occluded scenes and 3D unoccluded scenes. For 2D occluded scenes, we measure the effects of jumps in sample intervals around the discontinuities of the virtual image...
